Kick in the Eye is the soundtrack to a performance piece by MAP Intermedia. The work as a whole was collectively derived. It is a suite of interconnected pieces, created over several years (2002-2003), which documents a journey through physical trauma and psychological oppression induced by the continual bombardment of opinions, attitudes and ideas in a media-soaked culture.

The compostional values of repetition and variation are shared across mediums (movement, video, audio) algorithmically, while the constant abutment and simultaneity of disparate pieces of information mimics the dazzling multiplex of Modernist life.
